Invisalign is a brand of clear plastic aligners popular with many adults to help adjust minor alignment issues for a better smile. The dental professionals at Kaitilin Riley DDS are trained to help you best define and meet your alignment goals.

The initial consultation Dr. Kaitilin Riley will examine your mouth, which might also include taking a few X-rays. This helps define your alignment goals and the number of aligners needed to adjust your teeth into their ideal alignment.

The aligner trays are made from a clear durable plastic material, that makes them nearly invisible to the casual observer. Throughout the course of the alignment process you will need to wear Invisalign for at least 20 hours each day. Each set of aligners is designed to gradually stretch the periodontal ligaments anchoring your teeth, to move them a little bit closer to your ideal smile.

After two weeks you will switch to another set of aligners that are designed to adjust your teeth one step closer toward your alignment goals. On the average, people meet their alignment goals in the course of three or four Invisalign trays.

You can drink normally while wearing Invisalign, but you will need to remove them before eating. Avoid smoking or chewing gum while the aligners are in your mouth. When you are not wearing the aligners you should keep the aligners in the case provided.
