Clear Correct is a brand of removable clear plastic braces that has been growing in popularity for adults that have minor alignment issues. The plastic aligners are durable and the clear plastic makes it hard for the casual observer to even notice you have them in.

At the initial appointment the dentist will take X-rays and create an impression of your bite pattern. These are sent to the Clear Correct lab where a series of custom aligners are produced.

In order to meet your alignment goals in a reasonable amount time you will need to wear the aligners for at least 20 hours per day. Every two weeks you need to switch new set plastic aligners that are tuned one step closer to your alignment goals. Most people reach their ideal alignment through the course of three to four sets of aligners.

When the aligners are in your mouth you can drink normally. However, the aligners need to be removed while eating. Do not smoke or use tobacco products while the aligners are in your mouth.

Your oral hygiene routine of brushing and flossing twice per day needs to be maintained throughout the alignment process. You should rinse the braces each day with an antiseptic mouthwash. If there is plaque buildup on the aligners, you can brush them with a soft bristled toothbrush and nonabrasive toothpaste. Avoid using an abrasive toothpaste as this can dull the clear plastic in a noticeable way.
